It was a very early song I’ve never really heard before or in any group. It was very funny to me. It was really like I was about to read some of the lyrics to something from Stephen King and I couldn’t stop laughing at the idea of me and Stephen King in the same song.
How did you first hear about classical music from the young, classical-minded person
I guess when I was just 12, it was from the old days. From around the time I was about 20, my parents were really bad, they were really tough people. My father always told me to be a good student. I was always doing really bad on the piano and had trouble playing the violin. When I finally got the chance to learn to play it, my dad said, ‘How you doing It’s not easy for you, that’s why your playing is not easy.’ I’ve never been particularly good at singing. That’s why I wanted to learn something. You can never beat doing something that feels very personal. One of the things to remember would be that there are things you don’t normally do and so you have to listen to and keep reading in order for the music to get in your head. For me, when my parents passed away I remember being like, ‘Well, I think we’re really doing great.’ So I began doing music. I remember writing and singing when I was around 16 years old, then going to the bar to buy the ticket, I was just starting to pick up songs. I remember reading songs
