MICHELLE (laughs) Thanks. It’s been awhile since you last played a show with that kind of energy. You were on stage with all of New Jersey. So, I was just wondering just what was it like to be invited to that set
YEN I couldn’t believe it. You couldn’t believe I would be on your stage. I got in and out of my room and we would hear each other singing, we were just sitting at a table, everybody was talking. It was a lot of energy, but you know, even the first time I did that, my nerves are gone because I am not feeling very great. My nerves are already gone. That felt wonderful.
That wasn’t an amazing feeling for me. I’m just glad the show had more of that spirit about it. I would love to have had a chance to work with him, but it never happened. So, to me it was a great experience, because it was different.
YEN Yeah, I hope he gives me that same spirit now. I still remember the first time with the band, when we were on and off in the rehearsal room at Yankee Stadium because I felt so lucky. If I could have had him back on the stage with me, that would be amazing.
There was a time when you would just be like, Hey, I want to hear what your music is like now, when that moment really happened. What made you feel as special as it did
YEN I was just so lucky to have him again. I’ve always had a bit of a crush on that guy, so it was a relief. But it is something to try and do it every time. I am just so happy it was such an excellent experience.
You were on top stage. That was great.
YEN This was awesome. We were going down, then the guys came out. As soon as they showed up we started playing in the bar - and I can’t even imagine my life without those guys. I felt like I was like, Damn, these are the kids playing at such an old age now, I don’t know what I’m doing in that age group.
You could imagine your life getting back on its feet.
