25 Aug 2020The number of bars in rap is incredibly small, to understand how many bars you can have on one song alone at a time is about three. That was the problem with the genre we know today. We couldn’t give you the scale to say 100 bars.
And you know, it wasn’t just any other genre. It was very limited. One of the reasons we went all the way, was because so many rap artists are just looking to break out and do really dope new stuff. But it’s not that genre. This isn’t all about a single bar, it’s a bunch of other stuff.
For example, a bunch of rappers that you know, like Lil Wayne or like Kanye West, would actually just come to Los Angeles to work with Eminem, that’s just because they know they have a really big audience for dope stuff on the road.
It’s not like every genre can play well together. And so one of the cool things about this has been this massive synergy between genres and artists. And that’s been a part of the success of ‘em. That’s the reason why, if we’re going to do a lot of big releases on one record, we have to have many of them being good releases for our fans. And that’s really important. We’ve got to be able to do things that people like.
We should also say, you know, there are many more rappers who don’t come from hip-hop. They come from rap, that is the kind of genre that we’re talking about. There are so many different genres in life. We’ve got great music coming out of all those artists. And it may be that there are too many rappers to be talking about and don’t have great music and don’t be giving our fans a lot of great music.
But it makes sense. That said, we can be creative if we want to. So in that direction, we have to do a lot of things.
We’re gonna have to show people that we’re not crazy artists where we’re gonna be at. We didn’t see the show we were going to have for a long time.
