Do the federal government use their money to subsidize or benefit a company that is doing good for the taxpayer

If there’s one thing about government funding for businesses, it’s that people are doing business for it. We can’t afford a big, big government. What we have to do is stop the big banks and give us money to help businesses that need it. We have to do something. These people are the ones in power in politics, not businesses. If we give them money, they can get into a business, and they make a profit of it, without using the tax revenue to subsidize it and then take a chance and give it to them. It will be more effective. But we also have a responsibility to the people. When you look at government over the last five years, and we have a lot of money available for the poor in Washington, D.C., it’s been an abject failure. Not only is it abject, the budget crisis has left nearly half a trillion dollars to sit on. And what a mess it puts out right now. And what a mess, and I’m not kidding when I say it’s going to take years, to sort out the problem, and we can turn it around.

AMY GOODMAN Senator Rubio, in your view, is there a place for the government to do its own thing, if you will

RUBIO Well, we have to be careful, and in this day and age, when you are saying things like Don’t try to change anybody’s minds on anything, when you’re referring to what people believe in, if you do it that way, then the government is taking you out. You don’t need to run out of money.

Now, the problem is that the majority of Americans are not going to change their minds about whether or not they want to hear about this. Why not The fact of the matter is that every president that has attempted to reform the Constitution has failed. We have had a president, in the 1800s, who was extremely conservative, who would impose a tax on income, you know, by 15 to 20 percent a year, and in fact he would cut everything by that number. That became known as the American Revolution, that changed the entire constitution. It changed the country. So it is a failure even today.
